Behind the Crystal Ball

Is there a science on predicting the future? Or is everything just a ploy to take your money? Psychics claim that they have a gift that they want to share with the world. All the things that all psychics say and their actions to their customers are just things to make you think that what they are saying is true. For example holding the clients hands helps the reader feel the customer’s physical reactions to certain statements; the subject thinks that the hand holding is a way to establish a connection between themselves and the reader. Another trick that the psychics will use is called “shotgunning.” It is a technique where the say lots of random things hoping that one of the things they say is true. All of the statements they say are vague so that it will apply to more people than a very specific statement because the more vague the more likely it will be true. For example saying “You will go on a great trip.” What the prediction leaves out is when you shall go, where, and what makes it a good trip. This statement applies to most of the world’s population. Our brains also tend to forget the incorrect predictions psychics give us and we focus on the one’s that are true. So the next time you go for a psychic think of what they say and watch their body language because what you might be paying for is a very expensive guess.
